What's in your Knife Kit?

Help students get excited about cooking demos or offsite catered events by letting them practice what they would pack in their ultimate knife kit. I like to pack more than just knives. You won't find me without a fish spatula, snips, and a thermometer alongside my knives.

Knife kits are personal to each cook, as everyone cooks differently. It's fun to imagine all the ways to make it your own. Let students make a list of their tools and knives they can't live without and ask them to describe why.

To take it another step forward, give the class a recipe and let them figure out what are the best tools that will be needed for that recipe to completed offsite. Ask them to highlight all verbs in the body of the recipe. There should be a tool on their list to complete each highlighted word.
